US singer Ke$ha admitted to rehab for eating disorder

American pop star Ke$ha was admitted for rehab on Friday morning to receive treatment for an eating disorder.

"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself," said the 26-year-old Crazy Kids singer in a statement given to PEOPLE. "But I've found it hard to practice."

"I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days," she added. "Seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."

Reports suggest that Ke$sha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, is now at Timberline Knolls near Chicago, Illinois, the same centre where singer Demi Lovato was treated for bulimia.

Ke$sha, who has her own TV show called My Crazy Beautiful Life, has previously opened up about her diet, saying that she is a vegetarian because she doesn't believe in eating animals.

"I just love animals," she said in an interview with the Phoenix New Times. "I'm an advocate for animal rights and I don't believe in animal testing."
